Self kindness

Have you been KIND to YOURSELF today?

Post by Dr. Holly Hagglund, ND:

While it is important to be kind and compassionate towards others, research is also demonstrating the health benefits of kindness and compassion towards oneself.

Even though access to mental health care has increased substantially over the past several years, rates of mental health problems have not declined.  In this interesting study, the authors propose that self-criticism in our modern society could be a leading cause for this paradox.

Practicing kindness and compassion can reset the nervous system to a more calm and relaxed state and potentially even slow the aging process.  What can you do today to be kind to yourself today?
